Just so you know... The Soap Calculator now uses Microsoft Agent technology to provide a little extra help and to make using it more fun. What is this technology you might ask? Its the use of animated characters to make your experience more entertaining by interaction, and putting the character to work. The core files for this technology are already installed if you have Windows XP, 2000, or ME as your operating system, but a few support files will be needed to allow audible speech. These files can be downloaded below. On the other hand, if you are running Windows 98 you will have to download the core files along with the extra files listed below.
Windows 7 removed MS Agent support. Windows 7 version now available.

Requirements:

Microsoft Windows®7,Vista,XP,2000,ME, or Win/98
A working sound card and speakers
Printer or printer driver installed

Step 1: Install The Soap Calculator (4.42 MB) Build 29 released on 08-01-2009

Or Step 1A: Install The Soap Calculator (4.49 MB)Windows 7 - No MS Agent Support

Step 2: Install SAPI 4.0a runtime (824 KB) (Vista, XP, and 2000 ONLY!)

Download the above spchapi.exe setup program and run it to install the SAPI 4.0 runtime. The SAPI 4.0 runtime provides the speech interface so you can hear the MS Agent Characters voice through your speakers.

Step 3: Install the Text-to-Speech Engine (997 KB) (Install with Vista, 2000, XP and Windows 98)

Download the above tv_enua.exe setup program and run it to install the TTS Engine. The Lernout & Hauspie TruVoice Text-to-Speech (TTS) Engine (English Version) provides text to speech output so you can hear the MS Agent Characters voice through your speakers.

Step 4: Install Microsoft Agent Core Components version 2.0 (391 KB) (Windows/98 ONLY!)

Windows ME/2000/XP users can skip this step as these components are already installed on their systems.
